2012 Upcoming Concerts, Events, and Summer Tour
It's officially 2012, and that means it's time for another news update! After taking a break from playing several engagements over the holidays, we are back and ready to ring in the new year with some exciting concerts coming up in the next few months.
First up, Anna will be giving a solo harp recital as part of the Galilee Fine Arts Concert Series on January 29, 2012 in Pasadena, MD. She is also playing for a local production of Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly March 15-18.
On the West Coast, Kate will be playing two Celtic concerts in honor of St. Patrick's Day, one on March 14th at St. Andrew's-By-The-Sea in San Clemente and another on March 17th at Mission San Luis Re in Oceanside. On March 21, Kate is performing a program of classical music at the Encinitas Library. On April 22, she will be presenting a classical and jazz concert at the El Cajon Library, sponsored by the San Diego Chapter of the American Harp Society.
In addition, we are preparing to record our debut Sprezzatura Duo album this summer, and are working on finalizing dates for our 2012 East Coast Tour in Hampton Roads, VA this August. Dates and times TBA - stay tuned for more details!
September 4, 2011: Peabody Preparatory
Anna has just been hired on to the faculty of the Peabody Preparatory. She will be teaching harp and piano lessons to preparatory students attending the Annapolis and Baltimore campuses. Congrats, Anna!
August 22, 2011: Second Commission
Our second commissioned work by composer Stephen Gorbos will be premiered during our 2012 concert season. We will be performing a program of dance music. Check out Stephen's site at www.stephengorbos.com.
